Hello,

I have memento running on my XP PC, and would like to install it to my XP laptop. I have the two on a wireless network, and I would like for the laptop to go to the memento file on the PC, when I am on it, so that I can see the notes that I have typed when I was on the pc.

Is there a registry key that I can change that will point the copy of memento on the laptop to the memento file on the shared directory on the XP PC?

Or is there any other solution?

Thanks.

Phil

Short answer - no.

One of the features I want to add is to allow you to specify where the notes are held. But having two PCs store notes in the same place would often result in data loss due to the way Memento currently works.

This is only a problem if both PCs are running Memento at the same time - for example, if you added a note on your desktop, then Memento would save it to the notes file. But this would not appear on your laptop unless you quit Memento and started it again. Even worse, if you added a note on the laptop without restarting, Memento would overwrite the notes file, but without the note you added on the desktop. So it's not really designed for that kind of thing right now.

However, I do want this feature myself, so network features will probably make it into Memento.
